A winter in the sun...

“As they say – no news is good news.” Anyway – that is the case for me. My body is not giving me any bad news therefore I am doing very well.

I am at the moment in Lanzarote where I have been for 2 weeks now – and I am really enjoying it. And it doesn’t make it any worse that it is snowing and freezing so much in Denmark at the moment so my Danish training squad can’t train outside.

A few days before flying out to Lanzarote I was invited to France for promotional work with LOOK Bicycles and a better insight into LOOK as a company. LOOK has been my main bicycle sponsor since the beginning of 2010 and we will continue to work together through until the end of 2012. LOOK’s headquarters is based in the city of Nevers approximately 250km drive from Paris. One of the main reasons for my visit to LOOK was to complete a photo shoot promoting the new 2011 bikes and apparel range. Aside from the photo shoot it was also a great way to meet the team/manufacturers behind LOOK’s magnificent bike range.

I arrived in Nevers late Wednesday evening. The photo shoot took place Thursday morning and then I spent all Thursday afternoon touring the headquarters and getting a real insight how LOOK Bicycles operates. It was a great experience. I was very fascinated by the way that everything is made by hand and how much “know how” and precision it takes to create these amazing frames. They told me that it takes 50 man hours per frame from the first drawing until the actual frame is complete. That is why LOOK Bicycles is one of the most prestigious bicycle brands in the world!!

I am very proud to be a part of such a unique set up. I really enjoyed my time in France and look forward to returning in the future. I would like to thank Raphael Jeune (LOOK sponsor manager), Christelle Dumortier (Communication assistant) and Celine Sarriau (Communication Manager) for creating such a good atmosphere.

36 hours after my arrival back to Denmark from France I then departed again. This time the destination was Lanzarote – not just for 2 weeks which normally has been the case but more like 2½-3 months. This is the first time in my career I have decided to spend the winter in the sun away from snow so that I can train and not be interrupted by weather issues.

Training is going fine and I have my back and hip under control. My training is still under progression – but situation looks bright.

Thanks for following my progress and I will post a more detailed update on Lanzarote in the next coming weeks.
